Should We Really Show Any Sympathy for the Fixers in Sports?
Should we really show any sympathy for the fixers in sports when their is a touch of our heart in it. Are the players not doing crime by playing with our heart and with the nation!? What punishment will be enough for them to do this! I think it should be more than the 'LIFE BANN'. Is it funny, when we are watching a game and our heartbeats become higher about the result, then next morning we come to know that the match was fixed?
First of all, I wonder how the cricketers get involved in fixing! When the cricket is called the gentlemen game. Is it the gentlemen action!? Starting from the Saleem Malik, the first cricketer that banned for lifetime and sent to jail for offering bribe, many others have been punished for the match fixing and the list is growing day by day who are just playing for the money and not for the team or country.
It can be understood that some young and new players have been involved in the fixing as they are not matured enough but it's typical to understand that why the senior players get involved in these and how they can do this! All the players struggles for years to gain a place in the team, then they stood as the representatives of the nation with their hard work. They should feel proud but some of the players forget everything in-front of some easy money.
I found that many of peoples say that what can the players do when they get the threaten from the bookies and therefore they must be considered but I think it's worst thinking that players are involving in fixing for the fear of underworld. Some of us may have some sympathy with the fixers that they might be forced to do such by the underworld. But have you thought about the players who haven't been involved in these types of activity. Of course the underworld dons might have given threaten to the players but the big question is, "Why the players haven't share this with their seniors, police or anyone who could help them?" You may think now that they couldn't trust the police when it came to the threaten of their life. But don't you think that they could talk to their senior players at any time!!? But no! they haven't. They just have seen the money.
I agree that the bookies may threaten them but if it would be the only reason then why the bookies couldn't think about the other players who are much better than them? why can't they approach or threaten them? The reason is that they first gather information about the character of the players, they gather every information related to the player then they decide whether the player is buyable or not. So, friends we should have sympathy but not for them who sell themselves just for a little money.
I think, not only in cricket, but in every game or sports if a player found to be guilty for fixing or taking bribes he or she must be punished hard that the next generation will think thousands of time before doing such.
Friends, I would like to know what you think!
